This entire stage takes place in the Vosges. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

After a hot breakfast for 9 people, Jean-Yves drove Serge to the start.  <\/span>At 8H00 the temperature was -14\u00b0C.  <\/span>Serge was accompanied by David, who came from Thionville, with his wife who acted as follower, for 41Km.  <\/span>Serge looked like a “frosted” runner (see the photos of the day).  <\/span>At 10H30, for the third time since the beginning, Serge lengthened his stage in the city of Vittel: +3Km and 30 minutes lost before we got him on the right road.  <\/span>It’s a bit much because we were four vehicles — each blocked in different parts of the city, just a slight lack of coordination. Sorry Serge !<\/span><\/p>\n

Yesterday St\u00e9phanie administered care and a reflex massage to Serge’s feet (St\u00e9phanie is a chiropodist from Rennes).  <\/span>What  <\/span>pleasure for our runner.  <\/span>The situation seems satisfactory and the feet are not in bad condition. Toenails are not too too good, with some bruises and  <\/span>slight inflammation. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At 11H30, at the Poirier col (5433m): Brigitte, St\u00e9phanie, Jean-Yves and Thomas left for their home out west.  <\/span>Snow was falling heavily and we wished them a safe journey.  <\/span>As for us, we had bright sunshine all the way to Dompaire.  <\/span>At 13H30 Serge had covered 41Km.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eric, who lives in Nomexy, met Serge to accompany him for part of the stage.  <\/span>David gave up his place to him and confirmed: running in such cold is clearly not for muscles. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Serge will pass the first 1000 kilometers on Saturday.  <\/span>As he likes to say: “it will be 19 slices of 1000, the road is still long but we are calm, adapting to new conditions every day.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Serge went by car to Raon-l’Etape.  <\/span>The town had been contacted well in advance and made available to us the gymnasium, where we could eat, bathe and sleep.  <\/span>A small reception was organized by Jean-Claude, a local baker.  <\/span>Mr. Dautrey, the sports manager was present to welcome Serge. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It’s snowing heavily this evening and tomorrow Serge will pass the Vosges massif, which includes the Donon pass.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again, as is our habit every weekend, you will find our summaries on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
