A day of non stop rain which saw Serge to the bottom of a deep valley, from where we could barely see the sky.  The clouds hung on the side of the mountains and gave us the feeling of being actors in the movie “Un coureur dans la brume,” *  10 tunnels later, Serge was at the summit of highway #10, at an altitude of almost 300 meters.
Vehicles were rare and there were no dwellings to enhance the route.<\/p>\n

Where are we going?  To the end of the earth………<\/p>\n

Serge was soaked to the skin but he wasn’t complaining.  On the contrary, the temperature was ideal: 25\u00b0 Celsius and he wasn’t cold.  Only his feet suffered from being marinated in the humidity all day and in spite of the cream he applied at departure, he suffered from chafing under his arms and between his legs. He didn’t want to change his socks or his shoes: “In 2 kilometers they will be the same, completely soaked.”  He wasn’t wrong and in any case he’s getting used to looking like a waterlogged sponge.<\/p>\n

This evening, St\u00e9phanie recommended special treatment for his feet: Drying with the hair dryer, eosin antiseptic between, under and on top of his toes, which were left to dry before the finishing touch: a dusting of powder to prevent athlete’s foot.<\/p>\n

At 19H00, records were broken: Serge feel asleep as soon as he lay down, even before he could count to one.<\/p>\n
