The weather today was variable.  We had some of everything.<\/p>\n

Between the Pacific coast and some low passes, it was rather like a roller coaster for Serge:<\/p>\n

The sea – 28th kilometer, 150 meters – the sea – 40th kilometer, 200 meters – the sea – 64th kilometer, 300 meters – the sea.<\/p>\n

Between each mountain pass, we entered virgin forest of a density that really wasn’t inviting.  Access was difficult because it was steep and, unfortunately, we still haven’t seen any monkeys…..<\/p>\n

An aside concerning a geographical point: The Trans-Eurasia race ended in Shanghai because Asia ends in China.  Serge is continuing with the Paris-Tokyo in order to cover more than 19,030 kilometers.  Japan is part of another continent, Oceania.<\/p>\n

We are beginning to see the tip of Kyushu Island and next week we will reach the main island, Honshu, which we won’t leave until we arrive in Tokyo, which is expected at the beginning of September.
Serge is not very satisfied with the time he did today: “I was slow.”  He is eating well but he hasn’t any pep: fatigue, fatigue when you take hold of me!<\/p>\n
