On this eight-month anniversary, we want to pay tribute to all the followers who are working unseen for Serge’s well-being and to assist me.  Each has his\/her personality, his\/her competence, his\/her motivation.  We have super followers.  The proof, they are all eager to know what Serge’s next challenge will be, because they can’t believe he will take early retirement.  We feel they are ready to start again (not to say already at the starting blocks) and that is a fine reward because life is not always easy and everyone has to share the good and the bad moments.  Sharing of feelings is intense because of the promiscuity in which we live.  Rich in events, strong in emotion, this human adventure has taken shape along all these kilometers, marked by the rhythm of the big boss, Sergio.  Thanks go to all the actors of the Paris-Tokyo race: Arlette and Daniel, Ren\u00e9 and Eliane, Christian and Zette, Georges and Jo\u00ebl, Jean-Marc and Benjamin, Thomas and Ludo, Thomas and St\u00e9phanie, Thomas and Maxime, Wow! What a collection of Thomas’s!<\/p>\n

Question of the day: “Serge, do you prefer running in the rain or in heat like we had yesterday?”  Well, it would be rain.  Serge runs bare headed in a cloudburst and in a good mood.  Eliane took over from Ludovic in the follower’s car.<\/p>\n

For the moment, three of us are responsible for feedings.  As Eliane rightly says, we not only feed Serge, we drive, we follow the road book, we take photos, we manage the supplies in the follower’s car, we shop for food, we do the laundry every day by machine or by hand “and we always have to keep an eye on Serge.”  As for Lulu, he sprained his ankle jogging.  We wonder what could have diverted his attention….With ice and a soft splint it’s much better.  The life of the caravan goes on in a privileged environment: Japan.  We are all relaxed because we have confidence in our runner and in the outcome of this long journey.  Arrival is first in our thoughts but I sense that already Serge feels twinges of regret….. Human nature is complex.<\/p>\n
