A beautiful day, in less than 11H00.  Alternating showers and bright patches gave the sky and sea unusual colors and a luminosity that enhanced the picture postcard quality of the scene.<\/p>\n

Serge took a short break at Cape Oma, the north-most point, where there is a carved stone marker.
We continued our road along the coast, then went down to Mutsu.  We have closed the loop.  We are leaving Shimokita Peninsula, at the center of which is “Fear Mountain” devoted to the spirits of the dead. The small surrounding mountains are covered in dense vegetation and are an ideal place on which to base stories for children, where witches, monsters or dragons can appear at any minute.  Seeing a bear or a monkey would have thrilled us, but from a distance of course.  We’re brave but not reckless.  
 
At the seaside, meetings are very polite and Serge spent a lot of time greeting people along the road.  There is no age limit for encouraging our runner.  People from 2 to 95 are all interested in Serge.
 
This reminds me of a message we recently received from Jean-Charles in France:<\/p>\n

“While I was looking at one of your videos, my daughter, 3 years and 1 month, asked what your name was and what you were doing.  When I explained, she exclaimed “The rascal!”.  <\/p>\n
