SUNDAY, JANUARY 15
MONTFALCONE (18 km before Trieste) – + 2 km after the border of Croatia

Three countries in one day.  We left Italy, crossed into Slovenia at the 30 km mark and were in Croatia by the end of the day.<\/p>\n

We thought we had finished for a while with mountains and snow but after crossing the city of Trieste we found ourselves again in the mountains with snow along the road .  An icy wind has been blowing for two days.<\/p>\n

For three days we will have a team from the French TV station, TF1, with us.  They are doing a film about Serge and his team for the program “7 to 8” next Sunday at 19H00.  
This doesn’t upset our pace or the team’s daily routine.  Fran\u00e7ois, the cameraman who replaced Pascal, arrived today at the train station in Trieste.<\/p>\n

Serge started taking his protein supplements today when he ate.  He has lost a lot of weight and isn’t sleeping well because of it. His loss of weight gives him trouble sleeping because he has difficulty finding a comfortable spot in bed when he stretches: the fat mass of his buttocks has melted away like snow.<\/p>\n

St\u00e9phanie gave Serge a lengthy foot massage which was very much appreciated.<\/p>\n

It has been difficult to select photos because all those taken by Thomas Crabot were superb.<\/p>\n
