From Kavala to Xanthi we crossed a very industrialized plain. Then from Xanthi to Komoniti, fields alternated with industry.  Serge left Komotini at the kilometer 54 to go toward Sap\u00e8s.  Plowed fields waiting to be sowed stretched as far as the eye could see.  The villages all have several orthodox churches (Greece is 90% orthodox) and normally one mosque.  The land is rather flat but Serge had to fight a \u00be head-on wind coming from northeast. <\/p>\n

Socks took the place of gloves, has Serge lost his mind?<\/p>\n

-4\u00b0C with a bitter wind was on the menu today.<\/p>\n

On the road for long hours, the team takes refuge as often as possible in the vehicles and the ventilation is on high.  At 14H00, still inside where it was warm, we were having our lunch of kebobs (as Christian says, it’s a meal for kids) when a car stooped and three people got out with photo and video equipment and a microphone.  A team from the local television was passing by and intrigued by our caravan, came to find out what was going on.  Serge arrived at this point and gave a roadside interview.  It was a strange place for such a meeting but it added a bit of spice to our day.<\/p>\n

It was still daylight when we arrived at Arisvi.  Serge, Christian and Fulvio were frozen.<\/p>\n

The scales came out this evening because I had a feeling that Serge had lost more weight.  Verdict: 57 kg So it wasn’t an illusion.  He eats but is he eating enough to compensate for the calories he burns (about 5500 calories now when he is running)?<\/p>\n

During the massage, the muscles in his thighs were tighter than usual.  Serge admitted that he had pains in his legs because of the cold the last hour of his run: pains which he described as electric.  If we don’t question him he never complains — the followers have to be more attentive.<\/p>\n
