Saturday, September 22nd \/ <\/span>Day 24. <\/o:p> <\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

Miles\/day: 44.8     <\/span>Total: 1096 miles <\/o:p> <\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

Daily average speed: 5.95\/h <\/o:p> <\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had some problems again. Some youngsters on a minibus have thrown projectiles at Serge\u2019s face. <\/o:p> <\/span><\/p>\n

At the camp, we are surrounded by a crowd of more than 50 men. Insecurity is everywhere. We ask for the help of the police, they stay with us from 8.10 to 5 a.m so we can  <\/span>sleep safely. <\/o:p> <\/span><\/p>\n

However, this last week in Peru won\u2019t spoil the good memories of these Peruvian villagers that we\u2019ve met in the mountains. We\u2019ll remember these smiling faces on which curiosity and proudness could be read : proudness of welcoming \u201cgringos\u201d and mutual respect sealed by exchange of presents. <\/o:p> <\/span><\/p>\n

Serge has a hard time, on top of the physical difficulties, which he had underestimated, there are problems with the logistics to do with the communications. In spite of all this,we will arrive in LA PAZ on Monday evening so the more important is to hold the \u201c way\u201d. <\/o:p> <\/span><\/p>\n
