No, it isn\u2019t D-day yet, it\u2019s still too early, it\u2019s just Serge\u2019s Birthday. An extra year, that boosts a man, and when you know tomorrow night, you\u2019ll cover the 2486 miles (4000km). You can imagine… Serge is thrilled to bits. He shows it. The man is not a typical extravert, he stays concentrated on his subject. The road to follow to get to the final target. " Voyage au bout de la nuit " would be a good tittle for this expedition. He must go to the end but we can\u2019t be certain of anything. The softness of the beach in Rio will replace the everyday hardness of the tarmac. Everyday that goes by from now on belongs to the past, we tick the days, the moments of tiredness, the shouts, the pains, the fits of temper. He has never wanted to give up, that\u2019s for sure. This morning, after a few strides the pain in his hip starts up again. Serge decides to walk, not to stop, he continues his quest on this long band of tarmac, deformed by the unceasing traffic as far as the fiftieth km. He is aware of the fact that for a few days he\u2019s been having trouble at this level of the stage. He simply notices it but that doesn\u2019t stop him from coming back into the race every time. Serge struggles against himself permanently. He knows himself well, his body and his pains, his feet, his hip, he will have to do with it, until the end. We know it, patience always comes before pleasure. The pleasure, Serge will appreciate it all the more since he\u2019ll have a great dose of suffering behind him.<\/p>\n
