Good evening everyone,
The sky is overcast in Sougéal but the temperature is mild.  Eric, after welcoming us at his property yesterday brings us produce from his garden: onions, potatoes, homemade cider, and tomatoes.  The mayor comes with some people from the village and André, from Saint Grégoire will run the stage with Serge.

We leave Sougéal, overwhelmed by the municipality’s hospitality and we highly recommend a visit to this beautiful village, which is close to Mont Saint Michel.  There is a magnificent marsh land which we would like to see again.
Serge crosses the national forest of Villecartier before reaching Bazouges la Pérouse and follows the D91 before a small hitch near the D25  makes Serge deviate from his itinerary and drives the TV station, France 3 Rennes, crazy:  Where are they?
There is a surprise waiting for Serge while he is having something to eat:  Tom and Tom are waiting for him.  It’s Thomas Brégardis, the photographer who was with us for a part of the Paris-Tokyo and Thomas Crabot, also a photographer, who lives in Rennes with Stéphanie and who met us in China three years ago.  This year they became the proud parents of a daughter, Margot, who was at the finish line last night.
At 4:00 PM Serge reaches the roundabout of the Cressonnière in St. Grégoire, the meeting point for all the runners who wish to finish the stage with Serge.  We encourage you to take part in a superb race organized by the association “Courir à St. Grégoire” which takes place every year in January.  It’s a race for men and women and the atmosphere is incredible.  Mark your calendars!
The athletes of the UFF and CJD came to join the ranks because tonight we will be welcomed by the municipality of Rennes, thanks to the effort of Julie Chaudet of the CJD, joined by the UFF in the person of Frédéric Blanchard, as well as the stadium of Rennes.  It’s a group effort skillfully orchestrated by a woman.
We were happy to see Jacky again after Paris.  As is his custom, microphone in hand, he created a fantastic atmosphere.
5:30 PM, accompanied by a considerable number of runners, Serge crossed the finish line, happy as a kid.  It was some before we were finally able to go to our hotel, take a shower and proceed to the town hall for a reception in honor of the champion of the day.
Thanks to everyone for this beautiful day.
A wink at Joël, who from his home continues to work on the website:  now we can see the data from the Garmin watch “live”.  Thanks JoJo!
