It was a black day. After two hours of progression, his two legs packed in cellophane from knee to foot, Serge’s right ankle becomes increasingly worrying. At daybreak, the pain irradiates up to his knee and Serge fears a stress fracture. Ludo and Laure decide to make a strapping blocking the articulation. Two kilometers further, new pause to remove the strapping which compresses too much.Rest of this day progression will be nothing but a painful walk and, at 9.30AM, Serge stops and the camping is installed for the remainder of the day. Serge lies down, ankle rolled in ice pockets. We benefit from this afternoon to study the charts and to consider a new road for him, evenIf longer, but on more important lanes. We are learning that in Africa, the fastest way between two points is not always the most direct.
