A very hot day.  Every day the sun seems to get stronger and Serge is obliged to wear his cap and his gloves as soon as he starts.  At 8H20 it was 26° in the shade.

This morning we broke into two groups: Jean-Marc, Benjamin and Barchilov followed Serge in the four-wheel drive, while Claire, Mathieu and Laure were driven to Tashkent by Sherzot.  Claire and Mathieu left the race to go back to Paris.  Laure went to the French Embassy to collect the passports with the Chinese visas and then on to the central bank to change money and lastly to obtain a double entry on the Uzbek visa.  All of that took us until 17H15 and then we had a two-hour drive to reach the team in Khavast.

Jean-Marc and Benjamin handled the day like real pros: Serge ate two beef kebabs at 11H00 and in the evening Jean-Marc saw to it that he had chicken leg with potatoes.  Since yesterday he has been eating with appetite and we have noticed that he has more energy during the day when he is running.
