Some activity:
Early in the morning, there is already activity on the Paris-Tokyo race. At 5H30, the team at the Mizuno office in Morioka was waiting for our runner. The famous tricolor banner which Serge has signed at each meeting since Fukuoka was stretched out. The time it took to shake everyone’s hand and pose for a photo and Serge was off again. Two TV stations caught up with us for a daily report. Serge was running like a rabbit. He is running with ease and his step is loose. What a pleasure!
The weather:
Mr. Koshita predicted that the temperature would be lower and we had trouble believing it because in the North, in Aomori, we had heat and humidity. But, he was right. No doubt, the proximity of the Pacific Ocean has lowered the temperatures. It’s cloudy, the humidity is lower and the temperature high is 25° Celsius. The newspaper’s weather forecast gives 5° Celsius higher for Nigata, which is just on the other side of the mountain, to the West on the sea of Japan, and 10° Celsius for the north of Kyushu and the south of Honshu. The forecast for tomorrow in the region of Sendai: rain.
Some news:
Last night Brigitte and Jean-Yves arrived from Normandy. Our neighbors and friends have taken care of our house and cat for eight months. Tired but happy to have arrived, they will share the life of the caravan for the last days and help Eliane and Ludovic. Fresh news from the Pays de Caux, and most particularly from our green corner in Grainville-Ymauville and surroundings, bring us closer to our return.
Interactivity:
Some of you have expressed the desire to correspond in a more personal way with Serge: there is no chat. So I suggest you send your questions to him at the following address : sergegirard@wanadoo.fr.
For this last week of the race, he will continue to answer questions (perhaps not all of them but those most frequently asked) via the Website.
