Serge will enter l’INSEP around 9:00 a.m. and will run on the track in the INSEP until 11:06 a.m. He will be accompanied by everyone who wishes to run these last two hours of the Around the European Union Footrace, and celebrate the 365 days of the race…
The atmosphere is gloomy and the stage is dull….
Luckily, there is a « Totosh » to perk things up because it is really cold so it’s best to have a warm heart, which we do! Serge is cold and asks for his gloves. He’s a lone runner, closed in his thoughts and pains. He advances and does not give in. Never give in, more, always more to clock more kilometers in this wild adventure which he calls “the race of his life”.
The day is monotonous, the scenery is monotonous, and the weather is monotonous. It is a dull day and yet there are a few anecdotes: a driver stops near Serge “Are you going far?” Serge laconic, “Yes, very far”. The driver, “would you like me to take you?” No.
Oh my good man, if you only knew!!!!
We return to the parked RV and find an envelope that has been put through the slightly open window. It is from the parents of Samuel, who ran with Serge on the stage in the Landes department. It is simply that Samuel’s parents live in the Jura and came yesterday to bring us a bottle of wine from Samuel but the accompanying letter had not arrived, so it was delivered to the RV today!! It’s a nice story. Our thanks to Samuel and his parents.
In any case, we have noticed that lately Serge often runs faster than the mail. He should ask for a job with the post office.
Here we are in Bresse. The lights in the houses are already on at 3:00 p.m. but it does not keep the hens and roosters from wandering in the fields, proof that the poultry from Bresse is free range!
Tomorrow we will be at Bourg-en-Bresse and Viriat and we will see more beautiful poultry and have some good encounters but all that is for tomorrow.
