Serge feels terrible pain in his right calf, he has to stop. We are worried. Our face, like the sky clouds over. It is the start of physical worry. Night is falling over Green River. What does tomorrow hold in store for us? What new remedy? What new pace? New reason to find to make him go on ….

His calf still hurts. That evening, he tells us he is too exhausted to know what he must do. It is up to us to manage the race. He has to do 60 miles a day to catch up with his delay. Massage, lymphatic draining… … .. More than ever we must keep the machine in good working condition.

Saturday, August 23rd 54,3 miles (87 kilometres).

Today, Serge has a good pace. His spirits are high. There is a storm brewing but luckily the rain spares him. Serge runs at an average of 11 km an hour……An achievement!!!

Sunday, August 24th 56,6 miles ( 91 kilometers)

Serge has left the hubbub of the city for the calm of the Colorado river. The team is in the middle of the touristic Colorado Serge is like an ordinary jogger, among the others. At the end of the day, Serge limps, but he manages to take his mind off the pain. We deal with the race, he deals with his pain.

Tuesday, August 26th 39,8 miles (64 kilometres)

Love Land pass: at the altitude of 3644. He starts off walking. The team and Serge see a beaver who is swimming with a bit of wood in its mouth…To anyone, his quest. In spite of the pain, he maintains “I will carry on until I am not able to set a foot on the ground “.In “the sangsue”, we are more and more doubtful about the continuation of the race.
