“Happy New Year to everyone, may it hold a  multitude of emotions for you”

Once again, many thanks for your numerous New Year’s messages;

Today was distinguished by an impressive number of visits: Philippe Varache, eastern region director of the finance consulting network, who is also a friend of Serge’s, as well as people from AGF.  FR3 Alsace (regional TV network) reached us, as well as Karim, a photographer from the Icon Sport agency, who has been managing the photos of the expedition since Paris. 

Serge lost 30 minutes, round trip, to leave and return to the lodging we reserved.  It was a surprise for Serge and he was able to celebrate a good day in most comfortable surroundings.  There was a bath tub, a big room and a real kitchen where Pierre set to preparing us very good meals. 

In short, a bit of comfort before starting a real adventure, since the route that follows has not been reconnoitered.  Because of this we will have to be all the more adaptable but as followers we are good at that. 

It did not take long to cross Alsace, just enough time to admire the beautiful homes of the region, so typical with their half timber and colorful facades, more beautifully decorated than anywhere else at Christmas time.

Of 18 countries, one has been crossed.  Serge entered Germany at 16H27′
