SCHAMMERBERG – MINDELHEIM
71.3km – 10H36
Rudi accompanied Serge to Illertissen, which they reached at noon.  At that point his wife and daughter arrived from Kempten to pick him up because he needed to get back to his work. I think he would have liked to go further with Serge.

In Germany the schools are still closed for vacation so many shops and Guesthouses are closed too.  It was difficult to find a place to stay tonight.  We are crossing Germany through tiny villages but it is impossible not to know that we are in Bavaria because of the red tile roofs, which are typical of this part of Germany.  Bavaria has a strong historical heritage which we feel as we cross each village but which obviously we don’t have time to get to know in depth.  Serge and Daniel saw a magnificent fox while going along a forest and this kind of sight is always an event for us.

We have been studying our maps and have changed the itinerary to allow Serge to take these small roads, which are safer.

Tonight at the end of the stage, we had the visit of Mr. Mory Adashi, director of Mizuno Europe.  He came with a few people from Mizuno Germany: Patrick, Laurent and a journalist who were to interview Serge for some magazines.

Its time for Serge to go to bed after a long day spent in temperatures of -2° C.  I have to admit that the followers also need rest.  Tomorrow a new team will arrive to take over from Arlette and Daniel.

Till Monday, when you will get news of our weekend.
