Little coolness

Like every good traveller, Serge left this morning the little town of Jau. Like every morning, he thought he had only 38 posts of resupplying to honor with his presence. It’s enough to motivate him. Today as for the motivation, he’s filled up till Rio. An easy stage (however to wards the end ….). A change of scenery though : we’ve left the motorway for the fields of sugar canes and coffee trees which harmoniously mix.

Yesterday it was a public holiday. A religious day which turns into a feria. Concert of horns, car- rodeo, music, drag party. Brazil…….parties. If All Saints day over here looks like our traditional carnivals. Just imagine what it must be like at the time of their carnival !!! Here, there is only one subject which can get people angry : football. They take it very seriously. There are words and names which must be whispered and not shouted out. Just as an example let me tell you about this Brazilian who told us he had visited France two years ago. He said he was delighted with his stay, but with the humour which characterises them, he bit his fist when mentioning Zinedine ZIDANE. Like in their favourite sport, they have their way. The gestunes are very important, the way they move, they walk. Ask the men of the team what they think about the way they walk, you never get fed up. As for the swaying walk Serge is doing well. Today, for the first time he has had his support belt on all through the stage. The main thing is that he can endure it until the end. Weather forecast: a disturbence coming from the Atlantic but it shouldn’t spoil our week-end. We’re getting our fleeces out though. Little coolness in the morning. Calm sea becoming slight. In about eight days, everyone will be getting the swim strings out !!!!! We are already trying them on.
