At 7H45 a team of reporters and photographers whom we met in Kesan yesterday evening were on hand for Serge’s departure.  The demonstrations by Muslims seen on TV seem to have made the headlines in Europe, following the publication of unflattering cartoons in the press.  We are far from these things and our caravan is well accepted.

A bad day for Serge, who this evening is singing: mud, mud, beautiful mud “I have wallowed in mud all day.”  The rain did not cease and fog was thick in the morning. With such weather we could not enjoy the scenery and everything was very gloomy.

In short, nothing out of the ordinary happened today.  Even the seaside city of Tekirdag didn’t awaken any enthusiasm and the sea of Marmara blended into the gray sky.

Serge went to bed hoping for a better day tomorrow.
