Yesterday we told you about the followers, today we introduce “zothers”: Pascal (the cameraman) and uncle Georges (driver and assistant cameraman). They come and go along the route. This morning Pascal worked on the computer selecting his works of the previous day, so they left later than we did. During that time Laure updated the log and connected to Internet so you would be able to follow our progress. Speaking of Laure, we hadn’t showed you her shoes but now that they are on view in today’s pictures you can understand that they don’t compare Serge’s; however, it’s the efficiency that counts!!
At 14H00 we took off our red jackets because it was warm in spite of the snow on the road side only a few hundred meters from the sea.
Serge still has a stomach ache. The land configuration doesn’t help matters. It’s a succession of uphill and down at 60%. The difficulty for us is to give some variety to the menus: thick or thin soups, sandwiches and nothing more today.
At kilometer 55, Serge had an attack of hypoglycemia. He walked during the feeding and we didn’t know if he was going to fall to the left or to the right. We gave him two sugar cubes with drops of mint alcohol on them and then sugar water. He then took off on the last big uphill of the day. It was 5 kilometers long. The day finished with a 3 kilometer down hill and at 17H30 night fell.
It’s one of the toughest days I can remember said Serge.
Tomorrow is another day.
TODAY’S LOG WAS SIGNED BY THE DUPON T AND D?
