Laterite
Start this morning at half past four, the car lights his way, Serge carries on his race on the laterite, towards the Brazilian border. The fresh temperature enables him to run for a few hours without suffering from the heat which will become unbearable as early as nine o’clock. The hotpoles in the track make his body suffer, the kine looked after his hip this morning to relieve the pain. The team’s spirits are high, Serge hopes to gain time on this part of the race to arrive on time, on November 11th in Rio. He must keep this pace for about 62.2 miles, till we get to Brazil.
Note, this morning a snake came into our tent while we were having breakfast, a surprise for everybody, we’ll have to be careful to where we will put our feet. Mosquitoes here are particularly plump and voracious so everyone to his cream or to his spray.
