HAVING FORCEPS

It was about 5 p.m, the site had just been updated, with some spelling mistakes, when the local TV, the SBT, in French in the text : FR 3 Brazil visited us. Moment of relaxation appreciated by everybody, in a friendly atmosphere. Presentation of the members of the team (Brazilian and French) then interview of Serge. The funniest was the questionnaire for Laure, Serge’s girlfriend. Questions of existential order about their couple. The journalist was quite determined, but Laure put an end to it very quickly in a verbal pirouette. No, but …

Nevertheless this morning, they were back at 2 a.m. They followed Serge since the very start but left him an hour later. Quite insistent but professional to the end like Serge for today’s stage. Once more it hasn’t been an easy day, his right hip once again, as always. What’s incredible is that he seems ready to joke about it, it can come back, no problem with me but rather towards the end of the race on the 43,5 miles than at the very beginning. Nevertheless at the 30th km the pain remembers itself kindly to him. The problem is that he doesn’t know how to deal with it anymore. At the 34,2 miles…. He decides to stop. Ludo the physiotherapist manipulates Serge for the enth time. He starts again, but not relieved. Like misfortunes never come singly, the sun comes out. The globe of fire, is at its zenith around 10, and starts melting on our runner. At each resupplying, a glass of water. You can imagine what each mouthful can represent.

Serge finishes his stage in pain, he is used to it now. He doesn’t really care. One thing and only one counts, not to stop before RIO.

We really want to thank you again for your encouragement. See you tomorrow, same time, same site.
