Serge spends some time in the hospital of Montero to have tests done. It’s a bacterium which gets him down. He is on a drip for an hour, to be rehydrated.
We go back together to the hotel, saying nothing. What’s in store for us ? Serge is still to weak to cover 43.50 miles. He’ll cover 3.7 miles though, to respect the rule of the race that is to get to Rio with no rest days. Serge is well aware of the fact that he’ll have to make up lost time.
