2486 miles on foot……………. that wears you out

Today, for his birthday Serge has offered himself an extra present:the 2486 miles (4000 km). , He has already covered that distance in the USA but races are never the same, the circumstances and the conditions of a race are always different. Serge is worn out physically because of the crossing of Peru with several passes at an altitude of 13123,35 feet (4000 m) and more but he knows it, but his longing for his family and his friends remains the strongest. The 2486 miles (4000 km) remains a symbol for him, the most important progress in the Trans South-America. He’s achieved one of his goal. The 3107,52 miles (5000 km) will be a big first for him, and then, he will sublime himself on the final straight. Yesterday evening for Serge’s birthday, we stayed up a big longer, because of the cake and a few drinks. At 8.30 p.m. the party was over though. The first team got up at 2 a.m. Start in the pain, his hip is playing him up. Same scenario as the day before, walking up the hills and running as soon as the profile allowed him to do so. The average will go down but who cares, from now on putting himself out will be his every day life. 2486 miles(4000km) , that wears out quite a few pairs of shoes, fourteen exactly, out of the twenty that we have taken with us, how many can he still wear out? He just manages to finish the stage. But even though, Serge doesn’t want to be seen as a lonely runner, he claims it loud, behind him he has a team who listens to him and helps him go on. Of course, I’m thinking of you too , my friends, you are part of this lovely adventure that we are trying to make you live every day.

We thank you again for your fidelity.
