It’s very calm. Serge has got the blues. He feels nauseous and he can’t eat anything. He’s listening to his walkman. He goes on : 0.62 mile done, is 0.62 mile less to Rio. We just start self to get organised and everybody finds the time to have a shower, do the washing up and washing. In the leech, the days are long, no time to get bored. The tarmac road which goes from Cusco to Puno is one of the most beautiful in Peru but also one of the busiest. Serge doesn’t have a verge to run on so he must run on an edge of stones and soil and pay attention to the crazy drivers. We’ve bought football to play at the camp. After climbing and karate, we are into football now we must keep fit. Tomorrow it’ll be gymnastic.
